SEC Chair promises action on crypto regulation

SEC Chair Paul Atkins stated that the agency would continue its regulatory efforts after the Senate failed to pass the CLARITY Act.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Atkins thanked everyone who worked on the bill, including representatives from the administration, Congress, investors, and innovators. He noted that their shared conviction that America must maintain its leadership role remains fundamentally important.

Atkins emphasized that the SEC would take decisive action within its existing legal authority to provide certainty for American investors and entrepreneurs in the technology sector—regardless of whether new legislation is enacted.

The CLARITY Act was designed to establish a regulatory framework for digital assets but failed to pass a Senate vote.
