Coinbase Global CEO Brian Armstrong stated that he believes Bitcoin has already hit bottom in the current cycle.
"Bitcoin goes through these four-year cycles. Personally, I think we’ve already seen the bottom for the Bitcoin price in this cycle, and over the next year or two, it will start to rise as we approach the next halving," Armstrong said in an interview with Bloomberg Television in Singapore on Thursday.
He also noted that regulatory clarity for the crypto industry has "improved significantly," adding that the Clarity Act is in the "home stretch" in the Senate.
Armstrong stated that the bill's passage would mark a "major milestone for the crypto market." He added that US regulators have signaled their readiness to act regardless of the vote's outcome. "If it doesn't pass, US regulators—the SEC and the CFTC—have said they are prepared to issue clear rules anyway. So we’ll get them either from the Senate or from the regulators, I think, within the next week or two," he said.
On Thursday at 10:52, Bitcoin dipped slightly to $78,033.6, under pressure from escalating tensions between the US and Iran and rising Treasury yields, which dampened demand for risk assets. Cryptocurrency prices generally were also trending lower.
Armstrong said he hopes to bring tokenized stocks to the US market soon. He identified four trends he is most confident about heading into 2027: stablecoin-based payments, stock tokenization, prediction markets, and agency finance. Commenting on the wealth tax proposed by California, Armstrong stated that the measure "would be bad for California."
"I know a large number of tech entrepreneurs who are already planning to leave the state or have already left. I think this could lead to a significant budget deficit," he said. "Personally, I believe that attempting to seize people's assets is un-American and unethical."
