The meetings began on Tuesday and will continue until Thursday, according to State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott.

These talks represent the latest round of US-mediated dialogue between the two countries. Pigott announced the meetings in a post on the social media platform X.

"The United States remains fully committed to supporting both governments in advancing this process in a manner that ensures long-term security for both countries, addresses security threats to Israel, and restores Lebanese state authority in the south," Pigott wrote.

The talks are aimed at resolving security issues for both countries and establishing Lebanese state control in southern Lebanon.
